Though Buddhism had not been accepted when it was first introduced to China, they have its strengths and was later on highly regarded. In these files, the authors- whether they can be a Chinese scholar, Confucian scholar, or a Buddhist scholar- display either animosity toward Buddhism, passion and encouragement towards the teachings of Buddhism, or a natural opinion of not only the Buddhist methods, but the Confucian as well.
Undoubtably, the moment reading over the documents, there are several phrases that exemplify the authors unfavorable ideas regarding Buddhism. In document 4 (doc. 4) written by Han Yu- guy Chinese Confucian scholar and official at the Tang soberano court- the first affirmation is, " Your stalwart begs keep to say that Buddhism is no more than a cult of churl peoples propagate to Chinese suppliers. " In this statement by itself, the authors thought of the religion can be exposed. Discussing the Buddhist followers because barbaric people is an extreme lack of esteem and is an insult. Mcdougal also declares towards the end, "... " The creator with this document certainly wants the general public to know how much he really detests Yoga. He refers to it to be evil, and this it is a delusion that long term generations really should not be exposed to. Quite a few phrases of hatred can be found in doctor. 6 including, "...
